Why complicated, if there could be a simple solution? The Yeast Estrogen Screen (YES) is used in ecotoxicology to detect tiny quantities of substances with estrogenic activity. However, this requires expensive equipment and chemicals that are not available in poor countries. Therefore we set ourselves the goal of simplifying this test in a way that generates comparable qualitative results without hightech equipment and at much lower cost.
